One of our programs that focuses specifically on reaching targets of our Outreach endeavors is our Outreach Ambassador program. Consisting of both high school students and university undergraduates, our Outreach Ambassadors promote our organization and our many initiatives in their local communities, as well as, aiding in getting more students across Canada involved and aware of our programs through online means.  Our ambassadors work with their own respective regional teams to collaborate on region-specific outreach projects, as well as acting as representatives of the organization at promotional booths at STEM-related events. They also participate in providing the organization’s executives with feedback on our program development so that we can obtain authentic student opinions and concerns to address the needs that our programs may have yet to meet.

This way of making alterations to the program allows STEM Fellowship Executives to tailor what goes on within the ambassadors for the ambassadors, resulting in the organization being able to efficiently identify and address any issues. Outreach Ambassadors are also integral to STEM Fellowship through participation in other outreach endeavors such as reaching out to external organizations to initiate the communication for mutually beneficial partnerships.

APPLICATION FORM

Outreach ambassadors are responsible for taking part in regional projects, provide feedback for the development of STEM Fellowship-wide programs, and attend monthly meetings with the regional lead on a provincial level. You will be working with people from diverse backgrounds through local promotion of STEM Fellowship and our journal, as well as some other endeavours such as outreach integration with the partnerships committee. REGIONAL PROJECTS

Ambassadors work together as a regional team to collaborate on a region-specific outreach project to bring the local STEM community together. Numerous ideas grow into a reality with the support of the team and sponsors that assist with advertisement. Ambassadors have been extremely successful in executing their plans, introducing essential opportunities to high school students who are interested in exploring STEM education. Some of the notable projects accomplished this year by the outreach ambassadors include:

STEM CODES

A competition that was held over Code Chef for students to showcase their coding skills for a chance to win a prize.

RESEARCH THAT REVOLUTIONIZES

A free STEM webinar where attendees learned how to put a research project together from experienced outreach ambassadors, in addition to doing research in a formula university setting as a high school student.

CONFERENCE REPRESENTATION

We join forces with other STEM organizations to help spread awareness about our initiatives. We have ambassador representatives who set up booths at both online and in-person conferences and answer your questions about our organization!
